Dear Detroit,
Thank you for your years of support, encouragement and loyalty. You’ve allowed me into your homes everyday. I am truly grateful and humbled. I’ve worked hard to make you proud of me.
For 10 years, I was living my life’s dream of doing the news in my hometown. I’ve had this dream since walking the halls of Murray-Wright High School back in the 80’s. I was constantly amazed that I was able to not only dream the dream, but also live it. What a blessing!
I wouldn’t have wanted to be ANY WHERE else, doing ANY THING else. And the only thing that would cause me to step away from ALL THAT would be to take my public service to the NEXT LEVEL.
So, it is with great pride and careful, thoughtful consideration that I announce that I left my careers on radio and television to run for Detroit City Council. It’s time! It’s time for Detroit to feel PROUD AGAIN. It’s time for Detroit to MOVE FORWARD. It’s time for EXCELLENT REPRESENTATION.
You’re too busy and should not have to be a watchdog for the people you elect. You need someone you can TRUST to do the RIGHT thing, and make SMART decisions for the city we both love so much. You need someone who takes the job of PUBLIC SERVANT seriously, and who will not embarrass you.
It’s time, Detroit, to help me get elected to the Detroit City Council. Help me CHANGE DETROIT. Help me move our city in the RIGHT DIRECTION. We can do it TOGETHER. Pugh & YOU Changing Detroit.
